Experience
Tutoring is something I've always had a hand in. I have often played this role naturally, as a role model, in my life. As an older sibling and a babysitter for family and family friends, I often helped kids with their homework and during home learning as a role-model. In high school, I participated in a tutoring program where I assisted teaching a remedial science class for school credit. When I moved on to University, I gave help and encouragement to my friends and classmates in group and one on one environments. I also volunteered with Women in Science and Engineering (Wise) to help promote girls joining math and science fields. Through my years as a research assistant I held a teaching position for various university biology laboratory course components (including Introductory biology and animal physiology courses). I also volunteered for Let's Talk Science, and went to give talks and demonstrations to classrooms of Elementary schools. I also had a first-hand role in a teaching and leadership role as the head of my project overseeing the work and development of many undergraduate students. I have had the unique and diverse experience to tutor people of various ages and stages of development and would now like to continue that experience into the newest chapter of my life.
