Experience
I used to work as a tutor at CHICAGO HOPES which is an organization aims to provide educational help for public school students from homeless families. I found myself very interested in being a tutor, because helping students who have the same problems or difficulties in study as what I used to have at their age makes me content and motivated. As a recent grad from IIT who has an outstanding grade in math and physics, I am always eager and more than happy to help people with the knowledge I've gained over years. I also have a strong interest in art. I've been playing Chinese dulcimer since I was five, and has been invited to give lectures and performances many times in the past four years. As an architecture student, I am very good at drawing, especially creative drawings that based on imagination. Besides drawing and music, I also have a decent level of knowledge in photography. I am an advanced photoshop user, who has received relevant education at Johns Hopkins University, and obtained a top grade from the course. I am originally from China, where I finished my high school. While I was in high school, I used to work as an editor at school press. Besides, I used to tutor some of my friends who were studying Chinese at that time. Therefore, I believe I have the ability to tutor Chinese up to high school level. After I graduated from high school in China, I moved to Switzerland with my family, where I studied one year at International School of Geneva. This unusual experience allows me to have a broader vision and become more international and understand different cultures and values much better than before. I am very passionate about tutoring, and at the same time, I am extremely patient and hold a high standard for myself, as well as the students I worked with. I believe that one of the tutors' duty, is to give students a little extra push, in order to help them make progress and succeed.
