Cassandra M.

Private tutor in Ottawa, Canada

Education

I graduated from Villa Maria High School with a World History prize, French certificate, Media certificate, and an Honour Roll prize. I went on to Marianopolis College to earn my DEC in Creative Arts, Literature and Languages, where I won the Fine Arts prize. I then attended Concordia University for my Studio Arts Major, Italian Minor where I graduated with a 3.85 GPA and an Honours History Major with a 3.97 GPA. At present, I am pursuing my Master in Public History at Carleton University.

Experience

I hope to one day be a college teacher. I love learning, reading, and discovering new things. I have had amazing teachers throughout my life, and I hope to take what I have learned from them to, hopefully, one day be an inspirational educator. I tutor because I want to teach. I learn something new every day. No exaggeration! The thrill of learning something new is only rivalled by the thrill of being able to teach it to someone else who has not learned it yet. My experience is wide-ranging and includes work as a private tutor for elementary, middle school, and high school students in Math, English and French, and study skills; serving as a Teaching Assistant for a Canadian History course, an Art Specialist for grades 1-6, a History Program coordinator, a teen leadership program coordinator, a Monitor/Animator, and teaching oil painting classes to beginner and intermediate students.

Hobbies

I'm originally from Montreal, and came to Ottawa last year to pursue my masters in Public History at Carleton. Besides writing essays and researching, I love painting, drawing, and embroidering. I'm a pretty good chef, one of those people who can't put books down, who likes a good daydream every once in a while, and who loves to travel. I'm available to meet at the Ottawa Public Library downtown branch, your home in Little Italy, Chinatown, Glebe and downtown, or cafes in these areas as well.
