Experience
I am looking to become a tutor because the program I am currently taking may not be offering a Co-op component by the time I have completed the required courses to be considered for placement. Therefore I am looking to be proactive and get experience educating others through as many avenues as I can. I have extensive experience in history as it has been a lifelong passion of mine and I have frequently been asked to be a guest speaker in the classes of former teachers. I spent three years as a HIstorical/Cultural tour guide in Toronto before moving to Ottawa to pursue my degree and I have given onsite tours for tour groups of HIstorical Sites such as Fort York, Lundy's Lane War of 1812 Cemetery, Gettysburg (Where my profile picture was taken), and others. I also have a experience in creative and academic writing as my schooling required substantial output of both on almost a weekly basis. Furthermore I have spent the past year working for the Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival/Foundation writing all of the updated material for their websites, maintaining their social media accounts, Press Releases, and proposals/reports for: grants, board meetings, sponsors (potential and existing), Guest Dignitaries, and suppliers.
